So who am I?! I’m a 28 year old pharmacist living in central Texas. My fiance and I will be relocating to Denver in June so he can start his residency! I grew up in a south Texas town near the Mexican border so my friends consider me adopted by the Hispanic culture.

Glenn and I met in pharmacy school (before he went back to medical school) and are planning to marry in New York City in May!
Although I swore to myself I would be on Star Search at the age of 3…I was burned out with dreams of “making it” by the ripe age of 3 years and 2 months.

But seriously, I started this “semi healthy” blog as a way to connect with other bloggers who are trying to live a healthy balanced lifestyle. I’ve downed my fair share of pizzas (I can finish a large by myself), cheesecakes (Cheesecake Factory is my weakness), and chocolates (I’m NOT giving this up) but my biggest obstacle has been my struggle with emotional/stress eating. Although I’ve never been “overweight”, it’s easy to see any weight gain on my 5′ frame.

What’s really helped me move towards healthy mindset has been three key “wake up” realizations:
- Don’t think of exercise as WEIGHT LOSS but to FEEL healthy
- Stress eating is going to make me feel worse afterwards
- I will never look like Nicole Richie (seriously…I was obsessed with her)
- Weighing yourself on a daily basis can become an unhealthy obsession
ANYWAYS…enough serious talk…
My previous blog theyummyblog.blogspot.com was a great start to the blogging word but blogger made it hard to upload photos! Something that gave me great joy started aggravating me! My last blog was also just full of pictures of food and I want this blog to be more of a life blog: my food, travels, movies, bargain clothing finds, my obsession with celebrity gossip, etc. Other than traveling, I always find excuses to try new restaurants, food products, or recipes. If you’re looking for a blog with drool worthy forn (food porn) and Giada recipes..well…you came to the right wrong place. I fail at times…I’m talking “dry heaving from eating my food” fails.
“Why MyMarbleRye”? Well, I’m a Seinfeld fan and I consider this blog to be “my marble rye”….a blog that I’ve got my eyes and mind set on making a success and no one is gonna get in my way… little old ladies included!

long story, but basically my parents moved up here about 5 years ago and after graduation i couldn’t find a job (damn economy) and in my weakened condition, they suggested i move here and i accepted. it was really tough at first, but i’ve actually grown to like it… helps that my husband (who was my bf at the time) moved here this past summer too
Do you have a blog?! BTW you are uber lucky your family moved to an amazing state. You would be hitting your head against the wall if it was WYOMING…I mean…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

i totally agree with you girl, i’m only 5 feet tall too and people dont understand that 5 lbs SHOWS on a small frame. i hope you find our way to a happy weight through healthy eating and exercise. looks like you’re doing that already so you’ll get there in no time!
