Good Morning bloggies!
How was your weekend? Any scandalicious fun? I was at work slaving away…no I’m kidding..it wasn’t that bad…A couple of ADULT MEN came in wearing overalls so that made me giggle…middle of nowhere Texas=farmers=living up to the stereotype YO. The weather has been a bit cloudy here so the cool air has been a great change compared to the heat that’s gonna be the norm this summer!! In Texas the weather gets to be 98 degrees EVERY DAY till the fall. Sweat plus me= Kirstie Alley on a diet…not good.
Anyways, like I said in Friday’s post..I just need to pick MYSELF out of this slump and carry on. This week I’m gonna start each post with 3 things that I am grateful for…total cheese but I think it’s good to remind myself to look at the positive and not dwell on the negative. Or that’s what my fortune cookie said. You can join me on this 3 things a day for a week challenge..or not….you can just ignore.
Positivity should be spread like herpes around the blogging community IF and when possible.
So here goes:
- Emotional support. I’ve had the same friends since I was 12…if you do the math that means I’m old I have 15 year old friendships. I haven’t been the best friend in the world to all of them but as I age I’m growing and learning how to treat others.
- My health. I ain’t talking bout my mental health..jk. But seriously…I rarely get sick and I deal with sick people at work ALL day. LUCKY or is it all that yogurt I consume? hmmm…
- My job. Having a career in the healthcare has allowed me to travel, eat sushi, buy organic products!!! Even if someone yells at me at work, I close my eyes and think of my next trip…then call security to escort them out.
Okay those were my 3 things for today. Anyone want some wine with my cheese?
This weekend was filled with homecooking…and protein…I don’t even know why I eat a ton of protein when I don’t strength train that much..Oh…I know why…cause GLENN the king loves his protein…I digress…
I’ve been snacking on these Muscle Milk bars like it’s nobody’s business. They are seriously yum….gooey caramel OOZES out with each bite…it’s my excuse to eat a chocolate bar and it probably has the same amount of fat but it tastes delish and at least I’m getting some fiber and protein with my chocolate cravings…or gas.
Of couse we had to Omega 3 it up with some baked salmon. I bought a pound and a half so we can nosh on it all weekend. YEAH. I’m a $baller$
I also tried to trick Glenn by cooking turkey breasts instead of chicken breasts. I marinated the turkey with onions and tomatoes in light italian dressing. I know…so lazy.
It turned out pretty delish. The secret to turkey meat is the marinate it to death. Seriously…turkey has no flavor.
I LOVEEE guacamole..but I have a hard time stopping myself if I am given a whole bowl…I get these 100 calorie packs of guacamole from time to time. HOLY FUDGE…it’s a good amount of guac and it’s TASTTTYYY. They sell this at a ton of grocery stores now…you should check it out…or if you have then let me know if I’m way behind on the fad….
I was craving a “gourmet” sandwich so I toasted a 100 calorie pita bread, slathered some guacamole in it, added cucumbers for crunch, then a serving of salmon in it…
First of all, don’t judge my midget hands..I must exfoliate soon…but seriously..HOLY FUDGEEEE. The amount of tasty fats all ovah my tongue was YUMMM….and this took like 5 minutes to make…2 minutes to devour. New Record?
On another note, I need to try some new recipes soon…my little SEMI healthy food blog has turned into a “EMO” blog…or something…okay I’m babbling.

Wholly Guacamole is the best thing ever! I really really love it. The texture in the 100 calorie packs seems slightly different than the full size packages, no? Maybe it was just me. Love the pita idea!
I will totally join you for this challenge! I am so grateful to have a wonderful husband who supports me, to be healthy, and for technology! haha.

I love the NY housewives and the NJ ones too – they crack me up. I watch way too much trash…
I like the three positive things a day, it’s good to stay on the positive side of things.
Salmon and guac? Sounds awesome, guac makes everything better.
It really makes me feel a little down when you talk about your midget body parts or the bad angles in pictures. I never see what you’re talking about. Stop beating yourself up and love your little body! It’s one of the things you should be grateful for.
OMG. I never MEAN any of my midget comments!! I’m only joking!! I will try to make less of those jokes…I had no idea it had a negative tone!!

I am not annoyed that you are ADDICTED to my blog!!! But I would be annoyed if you found my blog “ADDICTING!!!” I think that word is ugly. Hehe.

its like thanksgiving up in here with all of the turkey and gratefulness (and lets be honest, theres guac at every holiday get together in my family, so that too)…
lets see…im grateful that i get to be living in a foreign country and learning/seeing/experiencing new things every day…im grateful that i just got to spend 10 days with my mom who rocks…and i am grateful that my family supports me in every way, every day!
but im not grateful that its not easy to get guac down here and now i want some SO bad
seriously, the day i get home there is going to be some serious gorging of the mexican foods…
I actually did this for the month of november (bc of t-giving) and it was so helpful! I think I need to do it again. Been walloped in a total slump lately…
And yes, OBSESSED w/ wives of nyc. The new one is dope- so chill, tho kinda feel like she’s a shit starter (which is awesome). Can’t wait for bethennys show this summer either!

I really need to work on my health and fitting exercise back into my routine. In the winter I am totally motivated to move but once it gets warm out, I hate being in the humidity, want to me lazy and drink beer, not a good combo.
If I can remember your 3 things I’m thankful for challenge when I sit down to post, I’m going to participate. I have a realy problem with planning my posts. I have all these ideas and then, once I’m writing, I lose them all.
I love Real Housewives! I wouldn’t want to be friends with any of those ladies. They’re all so snarky! But totally fun to watch.
